'Multiple fatalities' after crash in L.A. County, police say Several people reportedly died in what appears to be a multi-vehicle traffic collision Wednesday afternoon in Azusa, authorities announced.  Details are limited and it’s unclear what led to the collision, but the Azusa Police Department said the accident occurred at around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Cerritos Avenue and Arrow Highway, according to APD.  Aerial footage of the scene captured from Sky5 showed the intersection cordoned off while police were investigating the scene. An East Bay woman suspected her estranged husband of cheating, but then uncovered his alleged sexual abuse of a teen girl FREMONT — A city resident has been arrested and charged with five felonies related to alleged sexual abuse and providing drugs to a minor, in a case that started when the defendant’s estranged wife suspected he was cheating and confronted the teenaged victim, police said.Derek Herron, 44, of Fremont, was charged in Santa Clara County with three counts of alleged sexual abuse of a minor, one count of sending obscene or harmful material to a minor, and one count of furnishing drugs on a minor, according to jail booking records. He was arrested Tuesday and is in Santa Rita Jail awaiting transfer to the South Bay.Bail has been set at $250,000, records show.The investigation started in late April, when Herron’s estranged wife contacted Fremont police with suspicions that he had been sexually abusing a teen. Dianne Feinstein will now be closed to the public due to increased need for security, her office announced Wednesday, according to published reports.Feinstein’s Thursday funeral at City Hall in San Francisco was originally to open to members of the public to attend from afar. But now her office has scrapped those plans, limiting the service to invited guests.The service is set to be held outside but with a security perimeter that will disallow anyone whose not invited from seeing or hearing the service, KPIX reported.At 90, Feinstein was the oldest member of Congress and the longest-serving woman in the chamber’s history. Before that she served as mayor of San Francisco after the assassinations of George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk in city hall.
