After 14 atmospheric rivers, how full are California's reservoirs? (KRON) -- As wet weather has continued to impact California, some reservoirs across the state are being managed with scheduled releases of water to prevent flooding, according to the California Department of Water Resources (DWR). After 14 atmospheric rivers hit back-to-back this winter, reservoirs began filling quickly. Though most of the major reservoirs aren't full yet, several are significantly higher than they have been historically. This is especially true in Central California at the Don Pedro, Camanche and Oroville reservoirs. Northern California Video shared by DWR shows a large release of water from Lake Oroville down into the Feather River at a rate of 35,000 cubic feet per second. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is working with downstream water operators to schedule releases in an effort to manage flood control. The water release has caused a closure of Oro Dam Boulevard between Rusty Dusty Road and Canyon Drive because the water spray across the road reduces driver vis...

March Madness: Top-seeded SC moves on after topping USF COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Aliyah Boston showed once more she’s far from a one-dimensional superstar. While South Carolina All-American collected her 81st career double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in a 76-45 victory over South Florida to advance to the Sweet 16 on Sunday, she also used her uncomparable defense to energize her team and lift them out of a slow start to keep their drive for back-to-back national titles going strong. “She made a lot of plays that don’t show up on the stat sheet,” South Florida coach Jose Fernandez said. Like when next month’s No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA draf t twice dove on the floor to corral a loose basketball, then after blowing up Maria Alvarez’s drive to the basket ran out to the sideline to double team Emma Johansson and force a turnover. “This is who she is,” said South Carolina coach Dawn Staley, who’s watched and admired the effort the past four seasons. Zia Cooke scored 21 points for the Gamecocks, who imp...

Man United into FA Cup semifinals; Arsenal extends EPL lead MANCHESTER, England (AP) — It was all set up for a famous FA Cup upset as Fulham led treble-chasing Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. But in the space of seven chaotic second-half minutes, the visitors were reduced to nine players, had their manager sent off and conceded twice. It was a meltdown of epic proportions and United capitalized on it in ruthless fashion to advance to the semifinals with a 3-1 win that keeps its three-pronged trophy pursuit on track. There is also the prospect of a mouthwatering FA Cup final against Manchester City after the rivals were kept apart in the draw for the last four. Thoughts of an all-Manchester showdown at Wembley on June 3, however, looked in serious doubt after Aleksandar Mitrovic fired Fulham ahead in the 50th minute of the quarterfinal match. That was before the game was turned upside down as Fulham’s players and manager Marco Silva lost control. Emotions boiled over after Willian blocked Jadon Sancho’s goal-bound sho...
